A glittering professional's career can conceal some of the darkest tales. Lolo Jones, who won both the USA championships and World Champion in hurdles is able to reach her present standing with lots of effort and a huge amount of perseverance. A single mother in a family of five kids, Jones had a difficult and impoverished childhood. Jones' mother moved constantly and lived for a time in the church basement. Jones was required to relocate to a different school each throughout her senior year as a result of her nomadic life. At Theodore Roosevelt High School, Jones was separated from her mother to pursue her interest in the track and field events. Jones was a resident of four houses during her highschool years in order to study in a single location. Jones was awarded her the Gatorade Iowa Track & Field Award for the Best Athlete during her time at school. She also was an active member of the school orchestra as a cello player. Jones was among the most skilled hurdlers at the time she entered college. She won the 100-meter obstacle during the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship. She also was part of the winning team for the 100-meter relay. Jones took home both the indoor hurdles and the outdoor hurdles during the NCAA Championship in 2003. Jones started her track career in 2005 when she graduated from university. Jones was the winner of Torino Memorial in 2005, as well as Ostrava and Heusden races the following year.
Growing up in Cape Town South Africa Brandt moved with her family to Auckland New Zealand in her early teens. The local casting directors discovered her. Brandt was cast in the role of Naevia in the Starz smashes Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. Working with producers Steven S. D Knight and Sam Raimi she captivated audiences with her performance and became one of the show's most memorable starlets. She was on the show's hit Netflix show Lucifer which had a 6 year run. Brandt is also set to star alongside Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan and Chris Meloni in the adult animated comedy Captain Fall which airs July 2023 on Netflix. Lesley-Ann Brandt, a South African actress, born in Cape Town, South Africa on the 2nd of December 1981. She is a renowned New Zealand actress. Lesley Brandt, along with her entire family moved from the United States to Auckland New Zealand back in 1999. She began her career in Auckland as a retailer, and was then promoted to an IT management consultant. Lesley began her modeling career after which she began appearing in commercials. In 2008 she graduated from her college and began studying Meisner method of study. Lesley Brandt landed her first major acting job in New Zealand in TV Drama Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt has shown up in The New Zealand TV drama series Shortland Street in a visiting support role. The next time she appeared on the show was This Is Not My Life. It's based on the true story of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt was cast as Naevia the hostage's young daughter and depicted later as a character in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena miniseries in the Television show Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
